According to the information provided by the Saudi Arabian Bureau of Standards (SASO), the Saudi authorities have issued new import and export product regulations on April 23, 2011, which will be formally implemented on May 22, 2012, There are the following new rules: 1. Five years after the formal enactment of the regulation, Saudi Arabia will only allow electrical equipment and spare parts with an operating voltage of 220 volts or 230 volts. Between May 22, 2012 and April 23, 2016, electrical equipment and components that are operated at dual voltage (220/127 volts) are allowed to enter Saudi Arabia. From April 23, 2016, only the import of working voltage of 220 volts or 230 volts of electrical equipment and spare parts into the Saudi market. 3. Allows to continue to import or manufacture spare parts for 127-volt electrical equipment and spare parts within 15 years. The 15-year transition period begins on 23 April 2011. The Saudi regulatory authority is responsible for distinguishing spare parts with a working voltage of 127 volts and separately sold products.
